When it comes to waders the price range is big. You can spend more than $1,000 but don’t have to.

The Bassdash Immerse waders offer a solid entry into the world of fly fishing waders at an attractive price. Despite only costing a little more than $100 (you can get them for less than $100 if you sign up for their newsletter) they have all the features that you’re looking for in a pair of waders. Here’s why I think they’re a good choice when you’re starting out despite a few minor weaknesses.

Design

When I check out a pair of waders to review I have a list of features in mind that I want covered. These include: Breathability, hand warmer pockets, chest pocket, adjustable suspenders and gravel guards. The Bassdash Immerse waders come with all of these features. On top of that they also have attachment loops for zingers for example on each suspender.

Usability

The Immerse waders are made from a three layer nylon fabric that wears surprisingly light and also makes these waders a good choice for summer fishing. The lower part is kept in a darker, grass green color whereas the upper body is a lighter, green gray color. In my eyes, it’s a nice color combination that makes you blend in in almost any surrounding. The adjustable wading belt is also kept in a darker green and is securely held in place thanks to belt loops.

Comfort, Fit and Durability

I found the Bassdash Immerse waders to be very comfortable even when worn all day long. Photo: Leonard Schoenberger

The three layer nylon material makes the Bassdash light and comfortable and also offers a good level of breathability. On the downside, the fabric is (as you would expect) not as tough and durable as on the Simms G3 or Grundéns Vector for example. You definitley have to be a little careful when your way to the water leads through bushes or thorny branches.

Gravelguards

We used some extra gravel guards. Photo: Leonard Schoenberger

Like I mentioned earlier, the Immerse waders come with integrated gravel guards. Since we tested them in the Baltic sea during some sea trout fishing where there’s often a lot of sand and gravel around, we used additional gravel guards. But you don’t have to, since the integrated gravel guards do their job fairly well.

The Immerse waders feature D-ring attachments options in the front and in the back as seen here. The D-ring in the back is a good option if you carry a landing net. Photo: Leonard Schoenberger

Final Verdict

The Immerse waders tick all the boxes of a good pair of waders. Photo: Leonard Schoenberger

If you’ve just started on your fly fishing adventure and are looking for a quality pair of waders to use for your first outings, the Bassdash Immerse are certainly worth a look. They offer a good level of breathability, plenty of storage and attachment options and adjustable suspenders and wading belt. Integrated gravel guards round off a well thought-through pair of fly fishing waders that will surely last for your first season and if you treat it well, most certainly beyond that.
